WHAT IS - DRAFTING

Drafting is drawing up a pre-existing design for the purposes of achieving building approval, development approval, bulk tendering and/or trade pricing.  Drafting is also very commonly used to undertake feasibility studies on different blocks.  For example if you want a 220m2 house and are looking at more than one block of land, drafting can help you quickly decipher which block is better suited to your needs of design and scale without going into the nitty-gritty details up front.

WHAT IS - A SECONDARY DWELLING

Blocks in particular zoning areas are allowed to have more than one primary structure within their boundaries. This is especially important to investors or home owners with large blocks that may wish to increase their assets and income with little risk.  Building a second home on your property to rent or sell, subdivide or sublease is a great way to own an investment property without needing to purchase additional land. As this is not available everywhere, you’ll need to check before purchasing land.
